This is a bilingual pop-up travelling exhibit, representing fourteen sports played by the military teams and athletes from the 1880s to the present day. It features sections on the Soldier On program, origins of the Paralympic Games, Invictus Games and 20 videos containing oral histories and Second World War newsreel footage.
Featured Hall of Famers:
Percy Molson, an athlete acclaimed for his sense of fair play, represented Canada in Track and Field at the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis, before serving as an officer in Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry during the First World War.
Paul Rowe, a football star who served as a Captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery during the Second World War, overcame an injury that he sustained while deployed overseas to captain the Calgary Stampeders to their first ever Grey Cup victory in 1948.
Lionel Conacher, the greatest Canadian male athlete of the first half of the 20th century, served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War.
