Story
Robert John "Golden Boy" Goldham was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman and broadcaster. Along with his “Golden Boy” nickname he was also referred to as the "Second Goalie" as a result of his fearless attitude and skills in blocking shots. Robert began his National Hockey League (NHL) career with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1941 before serving in the Navy from 1942 to 1945. Robert won five Stanley Cups in his career including 1942, and 1947 with Toronto and again in 1952, 1954, and 1955 with Detroit as Assistant Captain. In 1955 he became a member of the NHL 2nd All-Star Team.
Robert retired from professional hockey after the 1956 season and worked for a number of years as a television analyst on Hockey Night in Canada and for the local Toronto Maple Leaf television broadcasts.
